ConnectSF is a multi-agency collaborative process to build an effective, equitable, and sustainable transportation system for San Francisco’s future.
The ConnectSF program established a 50-year vision for San Francisco.
Next it identified transformative project concepts and policies for the city’s streets, freeways and transit network. Those improvements will help address San Francisco’s transportation needs and move the city closer to the vision for the future.
And then during 2020 and 2021, ConnectSF staff gathered community feedback and undertook technical work to produce two separate studies: the Streets and Freeways Study and Transit Corridors Study. See below for more detail on the two resulting strategies.
Streets and Freeways Strategy
The Streets and Freeways Strategy identifies and analyzes changes to freeways, including interchanges, ramps, and express lanes, and major arterials to improve San Francisco’s transportation network. The strategy is paired with a set of white papers to explore how topics related to congestion management and transportation demand management could potentially be modified or implemented in San Francisco.
Transit Strategy
The Transit Strategy lays the groundwork for building major, high capacity transit projects in San Francisco. It develops and prioritizes initial concepts for subways, bus rapid transit lines, and other improvements to create a rapid, reliable transit network.
ConnectSF will be collecting feedback from the public as these two studies are developed. Please visit the Events Calendar page for upcoming public outreach opportunities and sign up for email updates.
